Overview: During the electronics activity, we learned basic circuit concepts by testing conductors and insulators, experimenting with switches, and building a simple light-up decoration. My group and I tried different materials, connected wires to bulbs and batteries, and engineered our own switch. Through trial and error, I gained a foundational understanding of how circuits work and built confidence in an area where I had almost no prior experience.
Technical Concepts:
- What circuits are, and how electricity flows
- Conductors vs. insulators
- How switches function
- Creating a simple circuit with a battery, light, and a switch
Brief Reflection: Going in with almost no electronics knowledge, I learned a lot through trial, error, and group problem-solving. Making my own switch and building a light-up decoration showed me how electrical concepts work in real time. It also sparked curiosity about how more complex circuits work, which I may have to explore for my future in product design.
