The 2025/26 school year has officially begun!
To kick things off, we want to take the time to shout out all of our amazing, dedicated learners!
Some are joining us for the first time, and others are continuing their journey this semester. But, regardless of what your path may look like, we are so excited to see you learn and grow here at Millersville University!
Welcome to our undergrad population:
- BSE English Education students (also known as our future teachers!)
- BA English students (including those studying Writing Studies, Literature, Linguistics, Film, and more)
- World Language minors
Welcome to our graduate learners:
- MA English,
- M.Ed. English majors.
First and foremost, we hope you have a safe, productive year. Please take advantage of campus safety and mental health resources. They are here to help you.

Secondly, the English department is here to foster and support every learner’s experience. Whether you are new or returning, on campus, commuting, or studying remotely, we have opportunities and resources designed for you.
On campus students & commuters:
There are tons of great, in-person events for you to check out! Whether you are new to campus or have been here before, these events are a great way to connect with other students, faculty, and staff. Millersville also has over 150 clubs and organizations.
Wherever your interests lie, there is something for you.
(We recommend the English club!)
Online students:
Please take advantage of our online workshops.
You can learn how to manage your time, think critically, or take fantastic notes all at the click of a button. Want to start a lesson, but not sure how much time you can commit to it in one sitting? No problem! You can start a lesson, attend to your other responsibilities, and pick it back up later. All at your convenience.
We also have a great online library with 24/7 access that allows you to browse, read, and stream scholarly research and other sources, wherever, whenever.
For Everyone:
Feel free to check out Millersville’s ‘Get Involved’ page to take a closer look at all the university has to offer.
And, as always, faculty and staff are here to help you!
If you have any special projects or research you are working on, or want to learn more about the English department (beyond what is listed on the websites and blogs), please reach out to our Associate Professor of English/Graduate Coordinator for the English Department: Dr. Amber Nicole Pfannenstiel.
