Dr. Corkery Spring 2022 Project

Dr. Corkery has been working with two students to help them prepare for the Frederick Douglass Institute debate, a PASSHE initiative. Their topic is whether critical race theory should be taught across curriculum at the college level. They researched both sides of the issue and practiced debating their arguments against each other. Dr. Corkery as also been researching the relationship and connection between urban Chinese Americans and urban African Americans through hip hop. He writes “The relationship between these groups through rap suggests some alignment in interests, concerns and goals. However, separate identities and attitudes are also noticeable.”
