Write For Us!

Help Us Engage for Change

You might be wondering: why should I write for the Engage for Change Journal?

There are many benefits from writing for our Journal. First of all, it is a great opportunity to get published. Not only is this something you can put on your resume, but you will also improve your understanding of the topic you write about and enhance your writing and revision skills. We also provide a very personalized experience in terms of the publishing process; our staff and editors make an effort to have mutually respectful relationships with their authors and help them work toward the goal of publishing a great article they can be proud of.

The Engage for Change Journal always strives to highlight key political, social, or economic issues that the Lancaster community is facing. Writing for us not only helps the journal become a bigger platform to discuss and cause change, but you also get to be a part of the conversation surrounding a current journal theme. The Journal is currently seeking authors for our next issue: Mental Health and Wellbeing: Justice for All. We hope that any potential writers who have rich experiences or diverse perspectives on this topic will consider writing and submitting an article! Mental Health is such a broad topic, so if you’re stuck on what to write about, here are some suggested topics/categories to think about:

  • Mental Health in Schools
  • Mental Health in the Workplace
  • Media Representation of Mental Health
  • LGBTQ+ Mental Health
  • Addiction and Mental Health
  • Mental Health in the Online Era

We’ll have more blog series coming up throughout the rest of this year, focusing on various topics (Equity and Justice in Education, Mental Health, Advice for Writers, etc.), so stay tuned!

What Mental Health issues has this post made you think of? Are there any people, approaches, or concepts that are underrepresented, erased, or missing from the conversation on mental health? Do you have any mental health experiences to share, or knowledge about mental health to contribute to the Engage for Change Journal?

Thanks for reading!
