Our 3D Modeling assignment was a simple application of something I learned years ago in my high school, specifically my Fundamentals of Design class. The only major difference was software, that being AutoCAD Fusion. We were tasked with recreating the model of a Lego brick and printing it out in physical form.
It was an easy task, although one that caused me a little distress in the execution of it. We had to create the initial brick, create the prongs on top, hollow out the inside and create the extensions inside. After that, we placed the bricks onto a mat in a 3D printing site and had them printed out. I still carry the brick in my coat pocket, mostly because I keep forgetting it’s there.
3D modeling and printing is a useful application, especially for recreating something and getting a physical model quickly.
