Why I Write by Meghan Eichinger

Writing is a form of therapy. Writing has a way of just flowing, it just comes out of my head like a waterfall. When I write, I usually write until I don’t have any more thoughts in my head. I use it as a form of therapy. I use it to get all the overbearing thoughts out of my head before I go to bed. I have a notebook in my drawer at all times, just in case I think of something, I can easily write it down before I forget. I tend to write anything that I think is important down, I just have to come back to it one day and remember it.

I write in my journal most nights before bed so that I can go to bed with a clear head. I write down little quotes that I think are memorable that my friends and I say throughout the day. I write affirmations for myself as a form of self-empowerment. I write my notes for my classes down in my notebook. I feel as though I have always been this way, always writing. I love to write for my classes, especially when it’s a class that I like. When I have an interesting topic for an essay, good luck getting me to stop writing. Writing has always been the best outlet for me.
