Today the Conservation Biology Class went seining at Tom’s Cove Bay in Chincoteague Virginia. Got a nice collection of different animals including mummichugs, grass shrimp, comb jelly, tube worms, Atlantic silversides, Black-fingered mud crab, Killifish, Sheepshead fish, Sea Cucumber, Skeleton Fish, Tunicates (Sea squirts), and others.
The Conservation Biology class at the Marine Science Consortium (MSC) is setting out dummy Northern bobwhite quail nests. They are monitoring dummy nests with remote cameras to identify nest predators and determine if nest success varies by habitat type.
I am currently teaching Conservation Biology at the Marine Science Consortium at Wallops Island Virginia. Been busy with the students thus far conducting vegetation surveys and setting up remote cameras in the field.
