3D Model Printing

Before taking this class, I had heard about 3D modeling and printing, but I had never actually experienced it myself. Everything I know now, I learned through this course, and all the guidance and resources provided have helped me understand the process much better. The ideas on D2L, especially the one on how to model a LEGO brick, the solid modeling presentation, and the basics of 3D printing, were incredibly helpful. When I first watched the videos, I was amazed by the possibilities of 3D modeling. The idea that you can design and print anything you can imagine was exciting, and I could not wait to start creating something of my own. Working on the LEGO brick project was a great learning experience. I enjoyed it because it allowed me to learn by doing. Although getting everything aligned correctly took time and needed several adjustments, I gained a lot of hands-on experience, which helped me understand the software and printing process more deeply. It was not only educational but also fun to see the result come to life. One of the things I have realized is that 3D modeling and printing is not just something you can do at school, it is a skill you can use outside of class as well. This technology has so many real-world applications, including art, fashion, construction, housing, spare parts, personalized products, and much more. Knowing that this technology has such a wide range of uses makes me even more motivated to continue learning and experimenting with it. This experience has truly boosted my confidence. It has shown me that I can create functional and precise objects, and it has made me excited to try more complex models in the future. Recreating a LEGO brick may seem like a small project, but it taught me the key principles of modeling, slicing, and printing. It gave me a solid foundation to build on as I continue to explore the world of 3D design.
