As shown here, it is quite prevalent that musicianship has many benefits. Unfortunately, we live in a time where the bottom line is what people see, and the arts are viewed as unimportant because they do not contribute to a business model. While not specifically teaching skill beneficial to business models, such as accounting, mathematics, or literacy; musicianship helps catalyze the learning of these concepts. Musicianship is a fun way to help people increase retention rates of skills that are vital for the work place; that make people productive members of society.
Research such as this can always be expanded on. There are many scholarly articles in this field, but they are not know. A project such as this can continue to bring to light the benefits of musicianship and convince people why they should practice music.
