For our materials processing activity, we got to laser engrave keychains!
In this activity we got to incorporate our experience from a prior activity: typography. Before we laser engraved, we had to design what we wanted to engrave, which involved going up to the computer lab and working in Adobe Illustrator. After we completed our design, we transferred it over to the laser engraver and engraved our design onto a small wooden block.
This was a super fun activity because I’ve always wanted to laser engrave but never had the chance before this activity. I very quickly caught on to how it works and would certainly love to laser engrave more in the future.
