Meet the Candidates for the Visual and Performing Arts Center Director’s Position at the Following Public Sessions

 The Search Committee for the Director of the Visual and Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce the following candidates have been invited to campus for one-day interviews.  We encourage faculty, staff, and students to attend the following public sessions. 

 At the public sessions, candidates have been asked to give a brief presentation on their “Approach for Opening a Performance Center for Higher Education,” followed by an opportunity for questions and answers.

Monday, February 20, 2012, 3:00 – 4:00 pm, Bolger Conference Center, University Room

            Mr. Roy Henley – is currently the Executive Director/Technical Director at Turnage Theater in Washington, NC.   Prior to this position, he was the Assistant Director of Operations at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC. Mr. Henley holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Bachelor of Arts in Design and Production from East Carolina University.

 Tuesday, February 21, 2012, 3:00 – 4:00 pm, McComsey Hall, Ford Atrium

            Mr. Blake Seidel – is currently the Managing Director for the Performing Arts Center at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY.  Before this, he was the General Manager at Olmsted Theatre also at Adelphi University.  He holds his B.A. in Fine Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, PA, and his M.F.A. in Theatre Management from Columbia University, NY.

 Thursday, February 23, 2012, 3:00 – 4:00 pm, McComsey Hall, Ford Atrium

            Mr. Randy Mayes – for the past 5 years, Mr. Mayes has been the Director of Arts Programming at the Bromeley Family Theater and KOA Art Gallery at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, Bradford, PA.  Prior to this position, he was the Managing Director at Mill Mountain Theatre in Roanoke, VA.  Mr. Mayes holds a B.S. in Arts Administration from Eastern Michigan University, and an M.B.A., from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN.

Monday, February 27, 2012, 3:00 – 4:00 pm, McComsey Hall, Ford Atrium

            Ms. Laura Kendall – presently, is the Director of Arts Programming at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, OH. Previously, at Cuyahoga Community College, she was an adjunct professor.  Up until that time, she was the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Learning at the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln, NE.  Ms. Kendall earned her B.A., in Theater, Minor in Film Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her M.A., in Marketing, Communication, and Advertising also from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.   

 The search committee consists of Mr. Edward Nase, Committee Chair, (Finance and Administration), Ms. Char Domin, (University Advancement), Mr. Dwight Horsey, (Student Affairs), Mr. Harvey Owen, (Finance and Administration), Dr. Marilyn Parrish, (Information Resources), Mrs. Tina Stout, (Academic Affairs), Dr. Diane Umble, (Academic Affairs), and Ginny Massey, Committee Support, (Finance and Administration)
