Dr. Charles Stricker joined the AEST faculty this semester. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA), an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University (Philadelphia, PA), a doctoral degree in educational technology from Wilkes University (WilkesBarre, PA), and has been a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania since 2002. His experience includes over 14 years of industry (engineering) experience combined with 13 years of academic experience across all levels of academia, including teaching and curriculum development at the secondary and postsecondary levels.
Dr. Stricker has taught Engineering Technologies (Mechatronics/Electronics/Robotics) at Berks Career and Technology Center since 2013, including Machining and Manufacturing Processes, Industrial Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC). He also teaches Industrial Electricity Fundamentals at Penn State Berks as an adjunct, and has done so since the spring of 2019. Dr. Stricker also taught Mechatronics Engineering Courses at Reading Area Community College (RACC), as an adjunct, for the past three years. He has Pennsylvania Educational Certifications in Electromechanical Engineering Technology (Vocational II), Electronics Technology (Vocational II), Physics (Instructional II), Mathematics Instructional II), Technology Education (Instructional II), and Business Education (Instructional II).
Dr. Stricker has spent more than 14 years in various engineering roles both prior to teaching and concurrent with teaching. The engineering roles included full-time positions and consulting roles for companies that focus on specialty metals manufacturers, engineering plastic manufacturers, automotive equipment manufacturers, show action equipment, among others. His engineering roles’ responsibilities ranged from product development to machine design, process engineering, through manufacturing engineering and automation.
