Among U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 rankings, Millersville University (MU) was again ranked among the top 30 public institutions in the North at number 29. In the full “2019 U.S. News Best Regional Universities – North” listing, which includes both public and private institutions in the region, MU ranks at number 103.

“Millersville University’s ranking among the top 30 public universities in the North reflects our commitment to high-quality educational outcomes,” says Dr. Daniel Wubah, president of Millersville University. “Our current ranking gives the University room to grow. We have a lot to be proud of and much to which we can aspire.”

The rankings will appear in the “Best Colleges 2019” guidebook, which will be in stores on October 16, as well as the 2019 web-exclusive rankings lists found only at usnews.com/colleges.

Other Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) universities in this category were ranked as follows: West Chester – 68, Slippery Rock – 90, Shippensburg – 112, Bloomsburg – 117, Mansfield – 123, Kutztown – 137.

The U.S. News ranking system is designed to evaluate colleges and universities on 16 measures of academic quality. The rankings allow students and their families to compare at a glance the relative quality of U.S. institutions based on such widely accepted indicators of excellence as first-year student retention, graduation rates and the strength of the faculty. Along with the rankings is a searchable online directory of school profiles. Each one includes data used in the rankings, user reviews of schools, plus key characteristics on applying, academics, cost, student life, safety, services, post-graduate employment and salary.

“It’s important to note that 95 percent of Millersville University graduates are either employed, attending graduate school, or are pursuing other scholastic opportunities within six months of graduation,” says Wubah. “And, we’re in the midst of a campaign to raise $32 million for scholarships, student learning experiences and Marauder athletics – all supporting student success at Millersville University.”

The complete rankings, data and methodologies can only be found via the U.S. News College Compass.
