Work of Drs. Nandedkar and Halawa.

Dr. Halawa Publishes Paper

Dr. Abdelhadi Halawa, Wellness and Sport Sciences, had his third research paper titled “Acculturation of Halal Food to Chinese Food Culture through the Ancient Silk Road and Hui Minority Nationality” published in the March 2018 issue of the “International Journal of Humanities and Cultural Studies.”

This paper, which is the product of his major dietary culture research project in China, examined the role of the ancient Silk Road overland and maritime trade routes together with the Chinese Hui Minority National in the acculturation of halal food to the Chinese food culture from the early 7th century to the contemporary time. Halawa was awarded two-year summer grants in 2015 and 2016 by the National Office of High-End Foreign Experts of the Chinese Ministry of Education to serve as a National High-End Foreign Expert and Lead Researcher at the Key Research Institute of Yellow River Civilization and Sustainable Development, Henan University, Henan Province, China.

Dr. Nandedkar to Present Paper

Dr. Ankur Nandedkar, Department of Management & Marketing, will be presenting his paper titled “Transformational Leadership and Positive Work Outcomes: A Framework Exploring Role of LMX and Distributive Justice” at the 55th annual meeting of the Eastern Academy of Management to be held between May 2- 5 in Providence, Rhode Island. He is also invited to serve as a chair for the session titled “Organizational Performance in Context.”  The session participants will include national and international scholars. Dr. Nandedkar will be leading the discussion focused on top management leadership and its effects on firm performance in an international context.
