The Doctorate in Education Leadership is a joint doctoral program centered on technology and poverty. The program is designed to improve school districts while preparing professionals to fulfill the needs and responsibilities of school administrators, such as principals and district superintendents.

Wilson, the chief financial support service officer in the Greencastle-Antrim School District, received her doctorate in Educational Leadership after successfully defending her dissertation, “An Analysis of the Impact of the Local Effort Capacity Index on Fiscal Equity Principles in the Pennsylvania Basic Education Funding Formula.” Wilson’s dissertation analyzed the adoption of the 2016 Pennsylvania Basic Education Funding formula and the overall effect this method of funding has on school districts. Wilson’s dissertation chairperson was Dr. Jerry Fowler at Shippensburg University.  Millersville’s EdD program co-director, Dr. Tiffany Wright, served on the committee as well.

Dinse, assistant professor at Lancaster Bible College, received her doctorate from Millersville University in social work after successfully defending her dissertation, “Barrier to Exiting and Factors Contributing to the Cycle of Exit, Entry, Re-Entry to Commercial Sex Work.” Dinse’s faculty advisor and dissertation chair was Dr. Karen Rice.

Dinse says her doctorate will help her better serve students, “The social work profession strives to use the most effective and current interventions. The doctoral education has sharpened my research skills and increased my competence as an evidence-based practitioner. The expanded knowledge on current research and practice enriched my role as an educator preparing the next generation of social workers striving for excellence.”

The graduate ceremony at Millersville University will take place on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held in Pucillo Gymnasium.
