From Harvard to Collegiate Media Summit

President Anderson Presents at Harvard University

From Nov. 13-17, experts in the business, education, public and nonprofit sectors will meet at Harvard University for the Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership Program. One of the guest presenters will be Millersville University President John Anderson.

During his time at Millersville University, Anderson has supported various sustainability efforts through his leadership of projects including the Climate Action Plan to pursue carbon neutrality and the Lombardo Welcome Center, the campus’s first net-zero energy building.  Anderson will speak on day two of the Sustainability Leadership Program in the faculty presenter portion of the day.

Leith Sharp, the director of executive education for sustainability with Harvard University’s Center for Health and the Global Environment, is chairing the program as the lead faculty member. Sharp visited Millersville in March 2016 to present on the subject of sustainability at the Ware Center.  Anderson joined the Harvard faculty member on stage for a collaborative musical performance to conclude her visit last spring.

State System Collegiate Media Summit

Janet Kacskos, APR, and director of communications at Millersville University, presented on social media at the 2017 Collegiate Media Summit at Bloomsburg University, November 4-5. The annual conference gives college students from the State System the opportunity to discover ways to prepare for their future in media, as well as network face-to-face with professionals in those fields.  Her presentation was “Tips for Getting a Job in Social Media.” It was based on Kacskos’ more than 10 years experience overseeing the social media accounts at Millersville University.
