Dr. Abdelhadi Halawa, Wellness and Sport Sciences, was recently selected to serve as a member of the International Scientific Program Committee for the 1st American University in the Emirates International Research Conference (AUEIRC), which will be held in Dubai, UAE, November 15-16, 2017. The committee members will be responsible for peer-reviewing research papers in their respective fields of expertise, appointing the keynote speakers, appointing the session chairs, and deciding on the best paper award. The committee encompasses 40 academicians selected from 15 countries, including four from the United States. Additionally, Halawa will be serving to peer-review research papers in the area of Education and Social Innovation. Dr. Kazi Hossain, Early, Middle, & Exceptional Education, presented a paper titled, “School Performance of Low SES Children: What Teacher Candidates Think the Reasons for these Children’s Poor Achievements,” at the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE) annual conference in Orlando, FL from February 11-14.

Dr. Rich Mehrenberg, Associate Professor of Early, Middle and Exceptional Education, and undergraduate student, Sara Howell recently gave the presentation “Classroom Management for Co-Teachers” at the 2017 National Council for Exceptional Children Conference in Boston.
