IMAGINE THE POSSIBLE – Fundraising Campaign to Support Students

Goal of $32M by 2020 to Assist with Scholarships, Student Learning Experiences and Marauder Athletics

Millersville University has announced the institution’s first fundraising campaign in its history entirely focused on students – “Imagine the Possible.” The goal is to raise $32 million in private support by 2020 to assist with three priority areas; “Scholarships, Student Learning Experiences and Marauder Athletics.”

As a result of the “Imagine the Possible” campaign, qualified students will have greater access to college and more opportunities in a diverse set of experiences ultimately providing them the tools needed to become successful employees, community leaders and citizens.

Planning for the campaign over the past 18 months, University officials met with key stakeholders including students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors and supporters to determine the campaign’s priorities and to build consensus for the initiative. In its quiet phase since July 1, 2017, “Imagine the Possible” is already 40% to goal.

“Millersville University is an exceptional institution,” said Alice McMurry, interim Vice President for Advancement. “‘Imagine the Possible’ reinforces our commitment to our students and further creates a close-knit community where undergraduate research, hands-on learning, internships and civic engagement are top priorities.”

The public announcement of “Imagine the Possible” coincides with several on-campus events including the University’s fifth annual Ville One Day Give – Millersville’s 28-hour fundraising initiative. This year’s One Day Give runs from 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 26 through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 27.

With a focus on donor count, the University has set a goal of 500 donors for the event. Additionally, a series of matching challenges and promotions will be announced throughout One Day Give to demonstrate the impact that every gift makes in the lives of Millersville’s students.
