Millersville Is a Great Fit

University Hosts Admitted Student Expo Saturday

Millersville University (MU) will welcome a new group of future Marauders to campus for the Admitted Student Expo on Saturday, April 7. This is an opportunity for accepted students to meet and greet with current students, faculty and staff; learn about academic programs; explore campus and decide if MU is a great fit for their future.

The expo will run from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be filled with a variety of informational sessions on topics including academic programs, dining services, housing and residential programs, the Honors College, resources for transfer students and financial aid. The morning will begin in the Student Memorial Center with a welcome from Brian Hazlett, vice president for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management and Katy Ferrier, director of admissions.

“The Admitted Student Expo is an important event in the admissions process. It’s the time for Millersville University to shine and show potential students, their parents and families that this is the best place to pursue their undergraduate degree,” says Hazlett. “Students will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and current students, and have all of their questions answered.”

Attendees can meet with faculty from the academic department that most interests them in individual sessions in the academic buildings.  For students who aren’t sure what they want to study, the Exploratory Session and Academic Fair will provide an overview of all majors and departments.

Placement tests in math, chemistry or basic skills will be available in the afternoon at 2 and 3 p.m. During this time, family members can take part in their own session designed to give them the skills to empower their new college freshman during their first year at MU.

“Admissions is thrilled to have the opportunity to meet with accepted students on campus on Saturday,” says Ferrier. “The schedule of the Admitted Student Expo gives students and their families the ability to picture themselves on campus this fall as a new member of the Millersville University community.”

Throughout the day, students and their families can tour the campus, walk through the residence halls and get their photo taken for their student ID card.

A free lunch will be offered in the main dining hall on campus—The Upper Deck, The Anchor or in the Galley.
