Millersville University’s Marketing & Communication Department has been recognized with two awards from the College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals (CUPRAP). The 2018 CUPPIE Awards for Creative Excellence in Marketing and Communications in Education from CUPRAP received over 495 entries and Millersville is one of the 49 organizations awarded. The Marketing & Communication Department received Bronze in the category of Video In-House for the Spring FestiVille Concert Weekend Promo and Bronze in the category of E-Newsletter for the ‘Ville Daily Campus E-Newsletter.

“The In-House Video that won a bronze award was created by a communications student who also works in University Marketing & Communications–Anthony Burgos ’18. Because Anthony was competing alongside professionals who do this work for a living, his video speaks to the superior quality of our academic programs,” said Gale Martin, executive director of marketing and communications. “The judges awarded ’Ville Daily because of the thoughtful work of the Communications Agility Team. The team identified and responded to MU’s need for a regularly published, efficient and effective campus newsletter that also upheld our commitment to sustainability. Congratulations to Dr. Jennifer Wood, Janet Kacskos, and two former students (now alumni)–Kenny Feliz ’17 and Nate Egziabher ’16—on their research culminating in ’Ville Daily, and to Janet Kacskos for the newsletter’s implementation and regular publication.”

The CUPPIEs are a highly competitive and coveted awards competition in the field of college and university public relations and marketing. They will be given at the 2018 CUPRAP Spring Conference during an all-conference on March 15. This year’s conference is taking place in Lancaster City at the Lancaster County Convention Center and Marriott Penn Square.
