Sustainable Champions

Errickson and Stokes Honored for Work

PERCDirector of purchasing and campus services, David Errickson; and senior geography major, Jessica Stokes have been recognized as sustainability champions for their work and devotion to sustainability efforts here at Millersville University.  They were honored by the Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium (PERC).

Errickson spearheaded the University’s donations of thousands of pieces of furniture from decommissioned residence halls to a variety of charitable organizations including Food for the Poor, Refugee Resettlement, Nuestra Clinca, Water Street Rescue Mission and Lancaster Habitat Restore. These efforts kept thousands of pounds of material out of landfills.

Stokes is the president of the University’s Geography Club and an active student voice on the Climate Action Plan committee. She had a key role in developing MU’s Sustainability Walking Tour and was recently appointed to the sustainability seat on Student Senate.
