Baldrige to Take the Commencement Stage

December’s undergraduate commencement ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 18 at 2 p.m.

Before Millersville University students take the stage in December to officially become graduates, esteemed businessman Thomas Baldrige will do so first as the commencement speaker.

The Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. in Pucillo Gymnasium. Baldrige will provide an address to applaud the achievements of MU graduates and to propel them forward into their next stages of life.

Baldrige has headed The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry as its president and CEO since 2000. The 2,200-member organization is dedicated to health and collaboration within the local community and its businesses, and it was twice named Chamber of the Year. Before assuming his current position, Baldrige was the executive vice president and director of government and public affairs of the organization.

After attending Ithaca College, Baldrige has held various positions of leadership such as president of The Lancaster Alliance, assistant director of communications for the Senate of Pennsylvania and scheduling coordinator for Governor Dick Thornburgh.

He also participates as a board member of Leadership Lancaster, Economic Development Company of Lancaster County, Discover Lancaster, the Workforce Development Board, the Lancaster County Transportation Authority and the City Reinvestment and Improvement Zone (CRIZ) Authority, and recently served as Chair of the board of directors of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

On the day of commencement, the doors to Pucillo Gymnasium will open for seating at 1 p.m. for seated ticket guests. An alternate viewing site for additional guests and for guests with special needs and/or children is provided at the Student Memorial Center Reighard Multi-Purpose Room where tickets will not be required. Live streaming will be available in this venue as well as online. Visit www.millersville.edu for more details on the day of the ceremony.
