Millersville University Ranked Top 10 in Salary Potential

Millersville was ranked 237 out of 445 public schools nationwide in terms of mid-career median salary.

Millersville University was recently ranked number 10 out of 33 public schools nationwide by the 2014-2015 PayScale Potential Salary Report in terms of salary potential for students who earn an education degree from Millersville.

According to PayScale, Millersville alumni with an education degree have a median starting salary of $39,100. The median mid-career salary is $55,700 for education degree alumni.

Overall Millersville alumni have a median starting salary of $40,600 for all degrees. The mid-career median salary is $72,400. Millersville was ranked 237 out of 445 public schools nationwide in terms of mid-career median salary.

The top five paying jobs of Millersville alumni, according to PayScale, are respectively, senior software engineer, safety director, environmental safety and health specialist, software engineer, and high school teacher. The median mid-career salary for senior software engineer is $100,000, for safety director is $73,300, for environmental safety and health specialist is $54,089, for software engineer is $54,000, for high school teacher is $44,000.

In addition to Millersville, other Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education schools were listed in the report. With education degree alumni, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) was ranked number three and West Chester University was ranked number four. In terms of mid-career median salary for all degrees West Chester was ranked 125, Clarion University was 213, IUP was 257, Kutztown University was 335, California University of Pennsylvania was 377, Mansfield University was 378, Lock Haven University was 391 and Edinboro University was 395.
