On Wednesday, Feb. 12, a campus celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day will feature a lecture by political and social activist Reverend Al Sharpton at 7:30 p.m. in the Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center in Millersville. This event is free and open to the public; however, tickets are required. Tickets may be reserved online, at MUTicketsOnline.com, at the Student Memorial Center Ticket Office (Room 103), by calling the Ticket Office at 717-872-3811 or at the Ware Center Box Office (42 N. Prince St., Lancaster). Ticket Offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The Rev. Sharpton is among America’s foremost civil rights leaders who work against economic injustices, political inequity and corporate racism. For decades, he has played a major role in fighting for civil liberty, community empowerment and economic equality.
The lecture is sponsored by Millersville University’s Black Student Union, African American Studies, NAACP Student Chapter, Frederick Douglass Celebration of Black Culture and University Theme Committee.
