Millersville’s Library Launches Inaugural International Film Fest

Millersville University’s library is hosting the 2010 International Film Festival, featuring two foreign film screenings on Friday, September 24th in Meyers Auditorium, McComsey Hall.

“STORM” (Sturm), directed by Hans-Christian Schmid will be screened at 7 p.m. A 2009 political thriller, “Storm” has received multiple awards, including the Amnesty International Film Prize, Prize of the Guild of German Art House Cinemas, Reader Jury of the “Berliner Morgenpost” and the Bernhard Wicki Film Award.

“WELCOME,” directed by Philippe Lioret will be screened at 9 p.m. This 2010 drama has also received multiple awards, including the Label Europa Cinemas Award and Ecumenical Prize, European Parliament Lux Prize, Grand Prize for Dramatic Feature and was nominated for 10 Cesar Awards (French Academy Awards) including Best Film, Best Director and Best Breakout Performance.

Both film screenings are free and open to the public, but seating is limited (50 people max due to licensing). This event is co-sponsored by the Foreign Languages Department and the MU Cine Club.
