Adventures of Marauder Abroad, Laura Brito!

Meet Laura Brito (shown here in traditional Chilean dance attire with her host family), a Junior Business Administration/Marketing major who studied abroad during the Fall 2012 semester at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Valparaíso, Chile.  One of the highlights of Laura’s adventure was a traditional Chilean dance class that included participation in a performance of the official national dance of Chile, the Cueca!

Laura shared why her study abroad experience was so meaningful to her:  “I love the class because it allowed me to step outside my comfort zone and learn through interaction.  I am so glad I had the opportunity to perform these dances in the traditional dresses and share the knowledge I gained throughout the semester.”  Being able to perform the traditional dances for an audience “was such a great experience.”
