The Asphalt Orchestra, Future of the Marching Band

On September 10, Millersville will welcome Asphalt Orchestra, a new street band, to perform its indoor stage show at 7:30 p.m. in the Clair Performance Hall at the new Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center.
The 12-member brass, woodwind and percussion ensemble consists of Jessica Schmitz, piccolo; Alex Hamlin, saxophone; Peter Hess, saxophone; Ken Thomson, saxophone; Shane Endsley, trumpet; Stephanie Richards, trumpet; Jen Baker, percussion; and Alan Ferber, percussion. The ensemble has two live performances: an outdoor guerrilla musical force, and “Unpack the Elephant,” the indoor experience. The ensemble has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada, at London’s Barbican Centre, at the TED Women conference in Washington, D.C., New York’s Alice Tully Hall, Metropolitan Museum of Art, among other venues.
This event is open to the public. Tickets cost $10 for general admission; $7 for students with MU ID and senior citizens and $5 for students with MU ID super saver. Prince St., Lancaster). Ticket Offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
