BURGLARY

 This communication is prepared as part of the Timely Warning requirement of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act of 1990.  This federal law requires a general communication to the campus community of all crimes reported to campus or local police departments that may pose a threat to the campus community.  Such reports shall be provided to students and employees in a manner that is timely and that may aid in the prevention of similar occurrences.

On May, 4th 2012, Millersville Borough Police Department received several burglary complaints. The burglaries took place in the areas of Hillview Avenue, University Drive and Shenks Lane in several apartments. Stolen from some of the apartments were laptop computers. The suspect did enter an apartment while the occupants were home. There is no description of the suspect other than a male.

These incidents are under investigation by the Millersville Borough Police Department, Sgt. Detective Howard Bauman.  Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity or a suspicious male in those areas between the hours of 10:00pm May 3rd, 2012 and 3:00am May4th 2012 or has any information regarding the incidents or the identity of the male is urged to contact the Millersville Borough Police Department at 717-872-4658 or Millersville University Police  at 717-872-3433. Members of the campus community are urged to take normal personal safety precautions such as keeping rooms and vehicle doors locked, Keeping all outside lights on, walking with other known students and reporting all suspicious persons and activity to police.  The Millersville University Police Department provides a safety escort from 11pm-7am and can be contacted at 717-872-3433.
