Written to be Understood

I speak and they understand,
but I’m not understood.
My condition is diff’rent,
So I doubt they could.
Black first, but color my words
As they please
They do this unconsciously
With such ease.
With type however,
There’s not only black and white.
Reds, yellows, greens, and blue.
Wrong is color—less made right
With words we’re heard
spoken in day, forgotten by night
With written words
They can’t say we didn’t give a fight,
For them to understand,
And maybe be understood.
