Program Details: Students that receive an REU position at Millersville University will receive a $500 weekly stipend and dormitory housing for the duration of the summer research experience. Included in the REU package is a 90 meal plan and $100 flex account to be used at campus facilities. Internet and cable are included in housing. Students will have free access to gym and library facilities.
Students will network with professionals in industry, the military and academia and will go through a library skills workshop to learn how to search the literature for scientific precedence. They will learn the peer review process and the high impact process of undergraduate research as they apply original research ideas in the laboratory. There is the potential for undergraduate publication. At the end of the summer, students will present a poster of their work for the department. In the fall, students are invited to participate in the ACS Northeast Regional Meeting to present their poster and compete in a Poster Competition.
