Millersville University is a primarily undergraduate institution, with faculty who are eager to educate and prepare students for life after college.
The intellectual focus of this REU site is to develop student interest in research, as well as their abilities and skills in the laboratory and to cultivate their passion for chemistry. In the REU program at Millersville University, students will be networked to faculty and scientists from the various fields of chemistry. They will be taught to implement peer review in a carefully mentored and controlled environment and they will learn to problem solve and troubleshoot in the laboratory. Students will be put through their paces in a library skills workshop and will present their work at a peer-reviewed poster session at the end of the summer to show what they have learned. Students will also have the opportunity to attend a Northeast Regional Meeting to present the work they have completed over the summer. This meeting will have career workshops and resume writing workshops that students can participate in and grow from.
