Introduction

What is the Purpose of this Project?

Music has been a central part of life for near all of human history in some way, shape, or forms. However, in the modern sense, it is a highly developed art form needing a high level of skill to convey well to an audience. Conditioning one’s body to do such a task at such a rigorous pace would in fact make the body adapt. “How exactly” is the question that is being asked. The goal of this research is to present a comprehensive and central list of areas of the musician that are positively affected by performing music.

How was this Project Conducted?

Using the Millersville University Library website, academic journals pertaining to this subject were compiled. These academic journals were scoured for specific information about experiments performed on musicians and compared to non-musician as control groups. What follows is the compilation of the many scholarly articles on the subject.
